Tuesday, July 10. JS Air started its international operations from Sri Lanka last week. The company’s scheduled charter operation was inaugurated with a flight to Maldives from Colombo, this route will be a scheduled once a week flight (every Tuesday). With its international operation from Sri Lanka, JS Air has become the first general aviation (GA) company to go international off shores.
This scheduled flight is the first phase of an extensive plan as part of JS Airs commercial partnership with Sri Lankan helicopter operator Deccan Aviation Lanka. An agreement was signed between the two air operators earlier this year, the new alliance plans on offering a ‘flying bus’ service to inbound tour operators at competitive rates from the international airport, and also for the first time offers Sri Lankan corporate flyers a deluxe private aircraft for corporate domestic or international charters.
JS Air is a regional air charter business established to serve relatively low passenger-volume routes for commercial airlines as well as providing executive charter services to the oil and gas industry and other leading businesses. JS Air has also been flying Karachi – Gwadar – Karachi route for Airblue for over a year.
