JS Bank has been recognised for its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts at the International Summit on Corporate Social Responsibility 2015.

The 4th International summit on CSR 2015 was organized by the Professionals Network. The honorary award was presented to JS Bank in a graceful ceremony held at a local hotel in Karachi. Prominent personalities belonging to Corporate Sector, Government Organizations, NGO’s, Academia and Media attended the event.

JS Global Limited inaugurates its new Faisalabad Branch

JS Global Capital Limited and Karachi Stock Exchange organized an Investor Awareness meet as part of a Nationwide Awareness Campaign of the KSE at the inauguration of JS Global’s branch in Faisalabad. Over 500 participants including members of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce, industrialists, investors, industry professionals, bankers, textile exporters, doctors, jewelers and people from all walks of life attended the investors’ awareness event. Mr. Kamran Nasir, CEO JS Global Capital Limited, opened the event giving a detailed presentation on JS Global, capital markets and in-depth fundamental research. Mr. Nadeem Naqvi, Managing Director KSE provided an overview of capital market infrastructure, steps taken for investor facilitation and protection. Other regulators, CDC, NCCPL and PMEX, also participated in this mega event, sharing valuable knowledge with the participants. State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has granted permission to JS Bank to conduct due diligence of KASB Bank for its proposed acquisition. JS Bank has shown interest to carry out due diligence of KASB Bank as part of its long term vision.

JS Bank supports revival of international cricket by sponsoring Pakistan Avs Kenya cricket series – December 17, 2014

JS Bank limited (JSBL) has sponsored a cricket series between Pakistan A and Kenya cricket team to help revive international cricket in Pakistan. The five match one day series will be played in Lahore at Qaddafi Stadium. It is the first time that any International cricket team cricket is visiting Pakistan after the horrific attack on the Sri Lanka cricket team, back in 2009. This tour is of considerable significance to both the PCB and JSBL as they hope the successful staging of the series will be the first step towards reviving cricket in Pakistan and convince other nations to tour the country.

The participation of Kenya would help build confidence and re-assure the international communities’ perception of Pakistan’s ability and suitability to host International cricket. JS Bank signs T24 Core Banking System upgrade – December 9, 2014

JS Bank and Temenos sign agreement for the upgrade of T24 Core Banking System. JS Bank was the first in Pakistan to go live on Temenos T24 system in 2008. Temenos today is leading core banking system in Pakistan and the top ranking company globally. In 2008, JS Bank implemented the R7 version which will now be upgraded to R14. The new version of the system carries many technical & functional refinements which will strengthen bank’s core banking operations and enhance our customer experience.

JS Bank will likely be the first in Pakistan to complete implementation of T24 R14 system upgrade. Additionally to enhance our customer value proposition JS Bank has signed agreement with Temenos and NDC to implement Islamic Banking R14, Insight Data Warehousing & Business Intelligence solution, world class Treasury front & middle office platform known as Treasury Trader and Arrangement Architecture module for rapid product development in the core banking system.

Kashf Foundation in partnership with JS Bank celebrates International Women’s Entrepreneurship Day – November, 20th, 2014

Lahore, 20 November 2014: Kashf Foundation in partnership with JS Bank celebrated International Women’s Entrepreneurship Day by lauding the achievements of its clients through an award ceremony for the most successful women entrepreneurs. The Chief Guest for the event was Barrister Shahida Jamil, former Minister of Law, Justice and Human Rights and Parliamentary Affairs and former Minister for Women Development, Social Welfare and Special Education. A panel of development experts comprising of Ms. Leslie Tinney, First Secretary Development Government of Canada, Mr. Ali Sarfaraz CEO of the Punjab Skill Development Fund, and Ms. Sadia Khan CEO of Selar Enterprises, discussed the role of finance, development assistance, and skills development in empowering women entrepreneurs. At the end, Kashf recognized 15 of its clients for excellence in entrepreneurship.

Kashf’s client Salma Kanwal who is one of the United Nations Ambassadors for International Women’s Entrepreneurship Day was also recognised at the event, where she spoke of her achievements in expanding her business through capital support and training opportunities provided by Kashf Foundation. November 17 – November 21 has been marked as International Entrepreneurs Week and November 19 is International Women’s Entrepreneurship Day. The day is an opportunity to celebrate, engage and empower female entrepreneurs.

At the event, Founder and Managing Director Kashf Foundation Ms. Roshaneh Zafar shared that Kashf had cumulatively disbursed over 2.5 million loans since its inception and trained over 800,000 women in financial education. Kashf currently has 229,000 active female clients and is currently providing micro-health insurance to over 95,000 low-income individuals. Kashf works through a nation-wide network of 180 branches. She further shared that Kashf had evolved into a wealth management company for women entrepreneurs from low-income households in order to provide a suite of pro-poor and women centric financial products and services like credit, savings, insurance, skills development, financial & business education and a special program for low-cost private schools

Wheelchair Distribution by Mahvash & Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation in collaboration with Walkabout Foundation, a U.S. & U.K. organization

Mahvash & Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation in collaboration with US Based Walkabout Foundation and assisted by Special Talent Exchange Program (STEP) and other NGO’s across the country distributed 250 specially customized wheelchairs to the flood affectees.

To mark this occasion, Atif Shaikh – Special Talent Exchange Program, Zaid Haroon – Mahvash & Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation, James Cerven – US Embassy Islamabad, Dan Welsh – British High Commission, and many other notable dignitaries were present and spoke regarding the initiative.

Mr Atif Shaikh, President Special Talent Exchange Program noted, “It is Walkabout Foundation’s second time in Pakistan, but these 250 customized wheelchairs, which are donated and delivered in conjunction with the Mahvash and Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation, is part of a larger project to collectively donate thousands of wheelchairs in the next few years to come” and he also added, “this is a unique initiative in a way that persons with disabilities have been directly engaged throughout the process”.
